WINTER TIDE

This painting takes me back to a winter memory — the local beach in Ballybunion, cold ocean, sun out, a bit of wind. The sand soaked through with cold water until it turned almost blue. There's a particular magic to a winter ocean — clean sea air, and that feeling again of endless, open space stretching out in front of you. The original painting was shown at my first solo exhibition, "The Place That Found Me," and sold on opening night.
