Name: Windmills
Year: 2022
Acrylic On Paper 147 mm X 207 mm

This is Lyracrompane, where I live — turbine fields on the hills, part of the everyday rural landscape here. I love the sight of them. They’re an entirely man-made structure, and yet they feel completely organic to this land — as if they belong here.
There’s something in that I find quietly meaningful: a machine built to harness the wind, standing in a landscape shaped by that same wind for centuries. Not a conquest of nature, but a kind of coexistence — two forces finding a way to work together.
For me, watching windmills turn slowly against the sky is its own form of meditation — the same pull I feel watching fire, or the ocean. Something rhythmic, patient, and endlessly watchable.
This painting was gifted as a personal present to mark a special occasion.
